AGATHA CHRISTIE: DEAD MAN'S FOLLY Review by DoubleGames
The hidden object genre is steadily expanding. So today we meet Agatha Christie: Dead Man’s Folly, the third game in the series by Floodlight Games. I think there will be no surprise for you that on this time you are to reveal who committed murder and why.
The scene is laid in a certain estate somewhere in the English countryside. Its numerous rooms are busy backgrounds that must be investigated by you thoroughly. Although the graphics are extremely good, some of the hidden items are too small and rather hard to find. For all that you are given only twenty-five minutes to complete the chapter and just a few hints. Moreover, if are a fan of random clicking, you will be penalized with some time off the clock. More than once you will cry for the untimed mode and a more generous hint system. Surely, not all gamers like to be pressed for time, but some people may appreciate this feature as a good stimulator.
Nevertheless, the puzzles of Agatha Christie: Dead Man’s Folly game is on the easy side, as all of them are ordinary and simple to solve. Still we should note that most of the tasks are tightly related to the story, which is evidence of a good title quality. To my humble opinion the third installment has not much replay value, since you will find yourself revisiting scenes and searching for some of the same items again and again. Fortunately, the developers do not always ask you to find the same objects each time. There is no need to make a mystery of the fact that the game produces the effect of déjà vu though it is remarkable for its high-rated artwork.
In total, Agatha Christie: Dead Man’s Folly makes a little contribution to the casual game library. Overall, though, it cannot help feel like it is well-made game with lovely graphics and amusing storyline.
