ALADIN AND THE WONDERFUL LAMP: THE 1001 NIGHTS Review by DoubleGames
Aladin and the Wonderful Lamp: The 1001 Nights by Anuman Interactive is a new entry into our huge hidden object library. There is no need to speculate on its plot much because all of us has read the book and watched film of the same title. To put it in a nutshell, Aladin, the main hero of the game, wants to impress the haughty Princess but puts himself in a great danger. So, you should help him to prove his worth.
To start with, the strange spelling of the title hits the eye immediately. In fact, googling the name “Aladdin”, we have found a number of different ways of its spelling. But what about Aladin and the Wonderful Lamp: The 1001 Nights? Do we deal with the developer’s inconsistent in the spelling or unequivocal use? We may doubt that the developer makes it on purpose to catch our interest. In spite of all we would like to see the traditional way of spelling because this one looks awkward.
However, the setting is quite exotic and unusual there. There are really nice things that make us enjoy playing. But unfortunately, in Aladin and the Wonderful Lamp: The 1001 Nights a bunch of defects has outweighed. Though the game atmosphere is poignant, the music background is looped and characters’ phrases are too short and repeated from scene to scene. The hidden object puzzles and mini-games are not only obscure but fairly annoying to play. To make things worse, the main character Aladin is presented there as a absolute dull-witted person. But who would like to play as muddle-headed hero?
Honestly, the deviation from classical spelling of “Aladdin” is the main stumbling block there. Whether it is a developer’s carelessness or just a promotion trick we cannot excuse them anyway. It makes the game look extremely unpresentable.
