Gamenauts, Inc. presents The Cate West: The Velvet Keys, a sequel to The Vanishing Files, where you meet with a talented novelist again. Another mystery makes Cate go to Damasca, and she should collect the items required to forge the enigmatic Velvet Key.

The game offers you nice hidden-object twists, so you will look not only for banal things from the list but as well you have to realize that “3 Threes” means the number 9, and other brain-teasing puzzles. After getting the Velvet Key you will be able to talk with the spirit of the victim which always points her towards to the scene of crime.

Mini-games you will face are very nice and fit the game plot perfectly. A spot-the-difference game, match-two or sliding tile games, guessing what is on the close-up photo and so on. Some of them cam be skipped but honestly, we’ve done it never. These twists are very captivating and fresh.

The graphics is beautiful, detailed and polished. The backgrounds and objects are well-designed.

The one drawback we can notice – 2 parts of The Cate West are closely tied, and some moments will be a bit abstruse if you haven’t played the prequel. In general The Cate West: The Velvet Keys is a game of high quality in all aspects, from game story till decoration.
