Curse at Twilight: Thief of Souls is a classical Hidden Object adventure puzzle game with cliched plot and gameplay. Still, both of these parts of the title work perfectly together and never seem overdone... Read more

As you are summoned to a mysterious manor, you must explore this gloomy place, revealing secrets along the way. Curse at Twilight: Thief of Souls is notable for its good choice of the environmental locations, which are always well-grounded for this or that episode. The game rather belongs to an adventure genre than a Hidden Object one. However, this adventure gameplay often offers you a puzzle or mini-game. From time to time you will also be challenged with hidden object scenes. Although the objects for searching turns into chameleons, matching the color of their backgrounds, this trick doesn’t increase the challenge in the game because the hint and skip buttons reloads rather quickly.

Visually, Curse at Twilight: Thief of Souls is well presented, with fine voice-overs in some cutscenes and polished artwork. The hidden object scenes are cluttered though, the items are easy to find due to the high quality of graphics. The music background isn’t obtrusive but sometimes a bit too repetitive. This scary hidden object atmosphere is surely supported by wonderful artwork and moody sound effects.

Overall, Curse at Twilight: Thief of Souls can provide players with a good hidden object experience. In spite of the shortcomings mentioned above this installment is one of the best games in the genre.
