DARK ALLEYS: PENUMBRA MOTEL COLLECTOR'S EDITION Review by DoubleGames
If you are a great fan of the standard ERS G-Studio formula games, Dark Alleys: Penumbra Motel is a real surprise.
Starting with the plot, Dark Alleys: Penumbra Motel dwells upon a sombre story about a missing child, your friend’s daughter, who is kidnapped by a weird man at the Penumbra Motel. So now you are heading to the one of the darkest alleys in the USA, to a place where this sinister motel is standing.
Being rather tired of one seek and find after another in some games, you will like Dark Alleys: Penumbra Motel as there are no straight hidden object scenes, but still plays like a hidden object game. The game is packed with a plethora of puzzles that are not very easy, some are even tricky. However, the hint button works properly, refilling without delay. The puzzles can be skipped but they really worth to be solved without any hints.
Dark and gloomy scenes of Dark Alleys: Penumbra Motel looks soundly though, they are not as crisp as other scenes of this developer. Anyway, items and other things are quite recognizable and clear. Music was quite creepy and suited the feel and mood of the game. While the music might sound annoying after a while, the voice-acting is well-made.
Looking for traced and trying to unravel a mystery are common for die-hard fans of Hidden Object genre. Today all these challenges are wrapped into a pretty ordinary mini-games and puzzles. Fortunately, Dark Alleys: Penumbra Motel is ready to offer you a few twists on classical gameplay. If you have nothing against something new, you will surely appreciate this title.
