Dark Heritage: Guardians of Hope Collector’s Edition, the new Hidden Object game, developed by World Loom and published by, you guess it, Big Fish Games, invites you to take part in the next mystical adventure!.. Read more

The storyline of the game is hardly original, and yet very entertaining. In general, you are to find your missing friend, recover an ancient artifact and stop the evil forces from destructing the world. Nothing new, as you see, but still pretty intriguing. The events unfold quite rapidly, and the atmosphere is very somber, though not blood curling.

Unfortunately, the graphics leaves much to be desired. Some backgrounds are too grainy, while most hidden object scenes resemble junk heaps, where the parts of human skeletons are mixed with rotten rags, dead insects and all sorts of precious things, such as silver earrings or vintage watches. In addition, there is a lot of back and forth, and I’m also slightly embarrassed with real videos used in cutscenes. Despite the brilliant actors play, these videos do not look very relevant on the background of grainy graphics. The background music, by contrast, is surprisingly pleasant. In truth, Dark Heritage: Guardians of Hope Collector’s Edition has the best music and voice acting, I’ve heard for the last month.

As for the gameplay, it isn’t too fresh or innovative, though smooth enough to captive you from the first minutes of play. There are two levels of difficulty allowing you to customize the game according to your needs. Some puzzles you really challenging, and the hidden object scenes are highly creative, with no dark spots. At the bottom of the screen there is a traditional shopping list with the names of items you need to find, but do not take them too literally! Once, I was asked to find two kings, one of which turned out to be a playing card, and the other was a chess piece, so don’t rely too much on your attentiveness.

In general, Dark Heritage: Guardians of Hope Collector’s Edition is obviously far from being a masterpiece. However, despite all the shortcomings, it is so addictive that you just won’t be able tear yourself away from the screen! In short, if you have no other better alternative, definitely give it a try, and you won’t regret your decision! Have fun!
