Department 42: The Mystery of the Nine is a decent hidden object game, produced by Frogwares company. You are playing as an employee of a secret organization which deals with different paranormal stuff. Your task is to find nine powerful artifacts that can cause some serious problems for the people of the Earth.
The gameplay mostly consists of usual hidden object puzzles, but there are some special details you need to know before playing the game. First of all, to remove items from the list you should click them exactly on the right spot. Also you should be prepared to look for one unique item surrounded by its analogues, like looking for cocktail in a bar. After you will make several wrong clicks, your mouse starts spinning in a circle for a short time. That’s a little irritating in the beginning, but you get accustomed to these features of the game when you play further.
There are some rather entertaining mini games in Department 42: The Mystery of the Nine, like jigsaw puzzles, “match 3” or “spot the difference” games. Most of them are not related to the plot of the game, the same as the hidden items.
Probably right now you are thinking this game doesn’t worth playing, but you are wrong! The game has gorgeous graphics and atmospheric music. Ask yourself do you really care about complicated plot? We don’t think so, cause it’s all about looking for hidden stuff! It’s undoubtedly a “must play” game for all the HOG fans!
