Diner Dash 5: BOOM

Diner Dash 5: BOOM! is a premium time management game. How could it be otherwise? It is the fifth attempt by PlayFirst to make something worthy. We should admit after all that these development staff did its best to win our haughty heart.

The dedicated audience of Dine Dash series will be glad to know that the gameplay underwent no crucial changes, but maintained its family friendly environment. It is really follows to the classic formula, which means matching visitors to tables by color in order to increase your income, making good chains for good points, and running around like a squirrel in a cage. Surely, Diner Dash 5: BOOM! is far from being original, since this same gameplay has been used in all titles over the years, however, it keeps the captivating value of this series. Who knows, perhaps this very unpretentious approach to the game is the clue of its high popularity.

Nevertheless, Diner Dash 5: BOOM! has some intriguing innovations such as the presence of changeable weather (heavy rain and wind) and broken fire hydrants or switchboxes. Each of these twists adds to the challenge and requires the main hero to do more work. Unfortunately, the developers did not manage to get over mushy mechanic, which break combo chains and waste your time as a result. Well, maybe PlayFirst did it on purpose to give themselves cause for the sixth chapter in the series.

At the end, the artwork and production values of Diner Dash 5: BOOM! are a big hitch even over the eye-catching prior installments, complete with sound effects to accompany the animated cutscenes. So, it has the same core gameplay, minimum twists but hundreds of millions of people all over the world have already downloaded this title. It is a real enigmatic game, isn’t it?
