Dominic Crane 2: Dark Mystery Revealed

Boring, tedious, dull are three main words that characterize Dominic Crane 2: Dark Mystery Revealed, a new hidden object game from Match Gems. Unfortunately, it is another pitiful game, by the name, we all thought might be fun.

The plot focuses on Dominic, a young promising artist, who has been having nightmares for a long time. He understands that these dreams are special messages that he should read correctly. This pretty standard storyline is packed with numerous ordinary hidden object scenes and simple minigames. The gameplay is much like a point-and-click adventure game, where you are to explore new locations and collect different items, which you use to crack puzzle. The hidden objects a big enough and not too hard to see, which is less challenging but also lets us play a relaxing gameplay.

Absence of any instructions for mini-games is the great drawback of Dominic Crane 2: Dark Mystery Revealed. Mostly you have to guess on where to go or what to do next. That is why some mini-games are too tough as there is no word on how to play them but they all require logical skills. We crack some puzzles without even knowing how we got it right. That is pity, isn’t it?

The plot itself has a weak connection with the whole game. Dominic Crane 2: Dark Mystery Revealed gives no reasonable explanation of each dream and why the hero should go there. It seems that the developers choose the theme of dreams at hazard. The last scene of the title is the worst part of the game as it is absolutely uninteresting and unimpressive. We believe that after so many perplexing tasks the player deserves to get something more than just receive a letter, which tells him where his sister. Probably the developers run out of steam to the last scene and had no ideas. The question is: Why do some developers dare to do their work in lackadaisical manner?
