DREAM CHRONICLES: THE BOOK OF WATER COLLECTOR'S EDITION Review by DoubleGames
The Dream Chronicles series developed by PlayFirst is one of the most successful point-and-click adventures on casual game market. It is always notable for its felicitous gameplay where both the graphics and the challenge are well-done. Dream Chronicles: The Book of Water keeps up the old Dream Chronicales traditions of gameplay, with some minor hidden object elements mixed in.
To start with, Dream Chronicles: The Book of Water is mainly for those who are craving for prior installments in the series. This premise is an absolute nostalgic look back where you can visit the locations from the previous chapters again. There are even locations with all the same settings and surroundings that add nothing new to the plot. However, none of these locations will make you doing the same things.
As usual this title is heavy on the puzzle side. They are all very different from ordinary finding tasks to logic ones. Unlike most hidden object games you won’t find scenes full of different objects or long lists of useless items to hunt for. The best point of Dream Chronicles: The Book of Water is that everything you collect is always used. This time around, you are offered only one mode of gameplay and very generous hint system.
Get ready to enjoy more of celestial graphics that are the main feature of the Dream Chronicles series. It seems the artwork became even more charming and vivid and characters – more interesting. Unfortunately, the game is still too short but if you do not skip any mini-games you will enjoy some very good casual gameplay. Pleasant to look at and listen to, compelling and intriguing, Dream Chronicles: The Book of Water is a worthy hidden object title. Although the storyline is rather obscure, but stirs our interest to clear it up as much as possible.
