Echoes of the Past: The Castle of Shadows

Without any doubt, you’ve already played or at least heard about a hidden object game Echoes of the Past: Royal House of Stone. Its developers, Paradox Interactive, decided not to waste time and have released a new game under the title Echoes of the Past: The Castle of Shadows. Let’s see whether it’s as good as its predecessor and what new features it has.

The story takes place in the same museum. A painting of a young lady has come to life and frighten visitors of the museum. They ask you for help and since this moment you begin your wonderful and dangerous adventures. The painting transports you in the past where a young princess asks you help the realm and defend it from an awful witch who has turned everything and everybody to shadows.

As its previous part, the game has very high resolution graphics and beautiful slightly animated scenes. The game is done in the same dark atmosphere and completely immerse you in a mysterious world. There are a lot of puzzles that are rather challenging and interesting, of course. You can skip them but be aware: each puzzle skipped will suffer you a 30 minute penalty.

In contrast to the first part of the game that is disappointingly short, Echoes of the Past: The Castle of Shadows has a good length and keep you playing at least 4 hours. Most players will love the game because it has a lot to offer fans of hidden object/point and click genre. It’s a must-play, definitely.
