ETERNAL NIGHT: REALM OF SOULS Review by DoubleGames
Start playing any of hidden object games, you can easily bet you are either trapped in a mysterious house or strange town, trying to find lost treasures, relatives or uncover a secret. Eternal Night: Realm of Souls by Namco Networks is not an exclusion.
The game dives you into Ancient Egypt, where the God of the Sun are captured and the whole world fall into darkness. So, you have nothing to do but become a volunteer and bring piece to this ancient world. Are you ready to the heroic deeds? Welcome to Eternal Night: Realm of Souls! Though the pomposity of the game concept, the idea is interesting there. We have nothing against to try shoes of the main hero, especially when the game backgrounds are vivid. Moreover, there is a unique type of hidden object games where you have to find objects to replace missing items in a picture. This is quite challenging since you are not always sure what you are searching for. Not bad twist on the usual hidden object gameplay.
Nevertheless, Eternal Night: Realm of Souls is crowded with defects. The biggest sin of this title is its repetitive mini-games. They are not numerous but they repeat and repeat from scene to scene. What is it? Lack of imagination? Or negligence to the work? Some of the hidden objects are hard to find, and hints never point out them. This game is very short but still it takes you almost half of the day to finish. In fact, the you have to spend ages waiting for these loading screens. And this waiting spoils the playability of this title.
All in all, if you are an adventure game player, who likes waiting for loading screens, this may be appealing to you, but if you a hidden object fan, don’t waste you time on this one because there is nothing worthy.
