FARMSCAPES Review by DoubleGames
Farmscapes, the newest game from Playrix, is one of those titles that is impossible to fit under any one label or genre. There you can observe match-three and time management elements, and even hidden object puzzles take place there.
The story runs on a teenager who is sent to the farm to help his grandfather and enjoy fresh air. So, the boy has a lot of work to do all day long: clean up fields, plant different crops, decorate and upgrade the farm. This is basically a match-3 gameplay with some hidden object elements thrown into it. Match-3 puzzling is simple but always engaging. These hidden object scenes are also clear and pleasant to investigate. Items are easy to figure out and require you to use your basic hidden object skills. We wish there were more challenge, as they take a great part of Farmscapes.
However, Farmscapes is notable for its wonderful 3D background filled with different highly detailed objects, lots of interactive things to spot on just for your fun, and sedative background music with light strings. Engrossing gameplay and stunning graphics! What else does any game should boast of? There is probably one real criticism about this title is that this game takes about a minute between scenes but it’s because of the high quality of the artwork and animations. Some impatient players might find the loading time too annoying, especially when you often change game scenes.
All in all, there is nothing particularly surprising or even challenging but it is still extremely entertaining. Though Farmscapes took after Gardenscapes, this is a solid entry in someone’s casual game library.
