FICTION FIXERS: THE CURSE OF OZ Review by DoubleGames
Fiction Fixers: The Curse of OZ by Fugazo is a real breath of fresh air today especially for all those upset about too many bad games. It is a sequel to well-known Fiction Fixers: Adventures in Wonderland. As a rule sequels are not very successful… Maybe this is a nice exception.
The game is pleasant to play, but not challenging enough. The artwork is pretty good, but unfortunately the plot somewhat predictable, and it certainly doesn’t offer much twists. Hidden object scenes are easy to explore, but too repetitive - keys, insects, balls, balloons, etc. Another words you can you must search for all the objects in the world. Why the developers can’t imagine something different?
With probably one or two exceptions, the mini-games are nothing special at all: rotating puzzles or turning on all lights. There are relatively few places to polish, so you are to visit and revisit some locations more than once. As Fiction Fixers: The Curse of OZ progresses, the items become easier to find since each scene becomes quite familiar. The voice acting is surprisingly good there, sound effects are also fine, but we would like to have music background as we go along.
As for the game length, it is about 2 - 3 hours, but this gameplay cane be much longer, if you not use hints or skip puzzles, and always carefully listen to the voice acting in the dialog or read all in-game texts. Still, it is not the best way to enlarge gameplay, isn’t it? However, Fiction Fixers: The Curse of OZ is not bad to see and play for a change.
