To start with, we were rather skeptical about this new title as ‘spooky Hidden Object games’ are churned out by the developers of all rates. So we had to throw all our prejudice away to give a true and fair review on this installment.

To our surprise, Anarchy Enterprises turned out to be a prolific developers out there, giving us an intriguing Hidden Object adventure Ghost Encounters: Deadwood. Firstly, there is a lot to do, and always new challenging tasks. It is one of those kind of games that you want to get back to immediately. Secondly, the plot is thrilling enough that you have to know what happens next and why.

Although the puzzles and mini-games are the usual match-3, logic puzzles, make a picture, etc, they suit the game and its environment. With its junk-pile hidden object scenes, Ghost Encounters: Deadwood follows ‘old school’ style. However, these scenes are crisp and clear and never make you exhausted. Anyway, the hint system is available for both game modes (casual, advanced) and re-charges quickly.

Graphically, this title seems perfect packed with lots of high-quality illustrations. The music is subtle, not very western like given the theme but still sounds okay.

Nevertheless , this is not a progressive Hidden Object game as most of its puzzles are simple and clear. This would be a fine quest experience for a novice to intermediate fans of this genre, but an avid player will likely not find much of a challenge there. But sometimes, a good story with good graphics in a relaxing game is just what adds some fun to a boring day.
