Haunted Manor: Painted Beauties Collector's Edition

Well, from the beginning this game had such great potential. Stephan Black, the main character, had to make a pact with the Death itself in exchange of his son and wife’s lives. And now anytime Stephan paints a woman, they disappear and you become his next victim. Save the souls of other woman and your own life before it’s too late.  So you explore the haunted manor, look for the evidences, collect clues and try to find answers to all the questions.

The graphics are dark and depressing, not colorful at all. Perhaps the developers thought it would help create a creepy and spooky atmosphere but it just never worked. “Thanks” to that some objects are hard to see and pick up. Fortunately there’s a hint button – in a form of little angel, some sort of contrast to the entire game atmosphere. Overall there’s nothing actually creepy in this game, nor anything exciting. We found it boring and slow. Puzzles are nothing new and extraordinary, same with hidden object scenes. Even the map is useless.

One good thing about this game is its length. It took us almost 5 hours to get to the end. The final wasn’t a surprise after all. What did creators want to prove by releasing this game? What was their goal? Unfortunately we will never know. But you still have a chance to play and appreciate this game. Who knows, maybe you will love it?
