Haunting Mysteries: The Island of Lost Souls Collector's Edition

Although Haunting Mysteries: The Island of Lost Souls is presented as an absolute new Hidden Object installment by Fuzzy Bug Interactive, this is just another creepy, deserted location game where ghosts are floating around to help or hinder you in your quest. This time around, your means of transport crashes nearby an odd island and your job is to escape this place and free trapped souls.

This game might reminds you yesterday’s haunted town/mansion game in plot, gameplay and graphics. No wonder! All of these parts are common and pretty ordinary, we have already tried these more than once. Still, we could excuse this fact, if the developers really did their best. However, they preferred to work in a slipshod manner.

As a result, we have to explore a plethora of unpolished Hidden Object scenes. Some of them are too pixelated, too dark or too grainy! Due to this flat artwork the game lacks in atmosphere. We don’t feel us as participants of the action, but rather detached and often boring. The puzzles are usual for this sort of games, although nothing too difficult yet. The mechanics of the game are good without any irritating bugs.

Graphically, Haunting Mysteries: The Island of Lost Souls looks rather rough. That is why most of Hidden Object puzzles are often annoying and even frustrative. To our surprise, the characters are interesting, and the voice acting is good, for the most part.

All in all, there are many games on casual game market that lacks in plot or gameplay originality but thanks to their high-quality production values they still are welcome. Unfortunately, this title has nothing of the kind.
