HIDDEN IN TIME: LOOKING-GLASS LANE Review by DoubleGames
It is an open secret that a compelling title is kind of a cunning trap for players. Its purpose to draw your attention and make you give one or another game a try. Big Fish Games, an experienced game developer, is a master of these traps as it clearly understands the importance of an intriguing title for a casual game. Hidden in Time: Looking-glass Lane is a vivid example of the developer’s skill to generate striking and catching headings.
This time around, the promising title of a new hidden object game has bewildered us, too. Hidden in Time: Looking-glass Lane dwells upon your great-great grandmother, a brilliant inventor, who built a time machine and everything went wrong, of course. It’s up to you to recover this mess solving all hidden object puzzles. They are easy except for the few items which do not look like their descriptions or extremely tiny to find out.
Honestly, the story rolls around the standard mini-games and puzzles. This would have been fine until it became very repetitive and the hidden object scenes were overused. The idea of a missing train throughout the time is also quite square. The gameplay itself suffers from monotonousness, and therefore make you very lazy. The artwork is clear but lacks its visual individuality. Moreover, most hidden items do not fit with the scenery or time period. The music and sound effects are not imaginative, so you can easily forget about them.
With the exception of intriguing game title, Hidden in Time: Looking-glass Lane has nothing memorable at all. However, this game might appeal to novice players, who don’t expect something special from a game. They can easily use this installment as the first knowledge of the hidden object genre. Good luck!
