HIDDEN MYSTERIES: NOTRE DAME - SECRETS OF PARIS Review by DoubleGames
From the very first minutes of the game Hidden Mysteries: Notre Dame – Secrets of Paris you notice that you’re pleased to hold your inquiry in the watches of the night, because you are supposed to use some uncommon investigative methods. However, you realize that in fact a traditional Hidden Object puzzle is offered, where the locations change but your challenge remains the same – to look for the objects listed. Besides, lack of correspondence takes place at times. It should be mentioned that most of the items are difficult to correlate with the context.
One more fault in the course of the gameplay of Hidden Mysteries: Notre Dame – Secrets of Paris is found. You meet souls of historical figures who stand on guard of Notre Dame. Each ghost asks you for this or that object which you are to find. But after you have found it, the ghost doesn’t appear to take it from you. The question is, did the developers want just to make the game a little bit longer and didn’t they aim to work on the details properly to make the storyline logical and complete?
The system of hints inside the game doesn’t let you go astray. You are even offered a map to explore the premises of Notre Dame Cathedral. On the other hand, all these simplify the game too much. Therefore it becomes boring sometimes to take the next step. Although this fact can be treated as an advantage by those who don’t like pondering over the game.
On the whole Hidden Mysteries: Notre Dame – Secrets of Paris is not a weak game, but it can’t be called superb at the same time. It is a little bit short and has a little to be memorizable. Perhaps, the game would become the best choice for the beginners at the genre or would meet tastes of those who want to explore Notre Dame spending not very much time for it.
