HOBBY FARM Review by DoubleGames
What are you going to do on this summer vacation? Going to Turkey? Thailand or Egypt? Not bad. Still some of us prefer rural countryside to exotic islands and hotels with all modern conveniences. If you are tired of hectic city, probably growing plants and animals will give you some pleasure. So new time management game Hobby Farm by Big Fish Games advises you to plunge into exiting farming environment.
To start with, you meet a couple who buy an old farm somewhere in a poky hole and begin to raise different products for a local resort. As you can see the plot is definitely simple, but the game itself offers addictive funny gameplay with few gotcha moments. For example, some animals can run down your farm and return only after several days, your hubby like any real husband lays in a hammock while you are busy as a bee, and is sometimes available for flunky business. The guard dog is hilarious and the burglars, who are hired by a local prospector to steal something from your farm, are also funny.
The experts of time management genre will surely notice that Hobby Farm is just a big improvement over My Farm Life and Ranch Rush. This time around, there is the change between day and night. The in-game map and controls become more convenient and understandable. Unfortunately, the core gameplay has no any twists at all. However, this title is much more challenging than before-mentioned games.
Overall, you can estimate Hobby Farm from two different point of views. If you are bored with the traditional farming mechanics, this installment might disappoint you. But other s will appreciate the well-known mechanics and the production values brought to perfection. If you can ignore the blatant similarity to some title, you will enjoy this farm life!
