LITTLE NOIR STORIES: THE CASE OF THE MISSING GIRL Review by DoubleGames
“To start a merry note, but finish on a sad one” is the motto of most game developers. Unfortunately, Sarbakan, a parent of a new hidden object game Little Noir Stories: The Case of the Missing Girl, is no exception.
We have to declare that Little Noir Stories: The Case of the Missing Girl is not as good as we thought, though it did hold our interest. As for the plot, this is a point-and-click adventure that has you going from room to room, searching for a missing girl. The title of the game itself gives a hint at the detective plot and spooky atmosphere of it. The story line is really intriguing and the chance to play as a pair of detectives makes the gameplay much more vivid. There are no complaints against the graphics, quite the contrary they are good and detailed.
Nevertheless, Little Noir Stories: The Case of the Missing Girl is abundant in repetition, and such tasks as “find leaves” or “find flowers” have no much sense there. Actually, this sort of tasks always suggests that the developers do not know how to fill up the gameplay and offer us to solve such odd puzzles as these ones. We should admit that the hidden items generally fit the theme and logically embedded in most scenes. But the mini-games are on the easy side, thank God, they are not so disturbingly. However, this premise has great problems with the mechanics, so it can freeze in several places. Who will like these bugs?! While this is one of those rare games that can be really proud of the decent voice acting, there you will often see (or being more accurate hear) some troubles with the voice as well. So, prepare your ears for the strange and annoying grunts and sudden missing voice acting. Honestly, this game looks like a rough copy.
