MASQUERADE MYSTERIES: THE CASE OF THE COPYCAT CURATOR Review by DoubleGames
Those who are about to devote four or five hours for some quite good hidden object game, may decide on Masquerade Mysteries: The Case of the Copycat Curator by Merscom LLC. But do not wait there for some revolutionary ideas or twists as this title is much simpler.
Masquerade Mysteries: The Case of the Copycat Curator follows the usual detective concept for this sort of games that offering you to step into the stylish shoes of the female detective named Joy Black. This premise can be classified as a straight forward hidden object game, so it will perfectly please a player who likes to look through a lot of items. Luckily, its good production value contributes to captivating gameplay. While this installment is well-drawn, there is a great variety of picturesque locations and objects to search in, and it plays swimmingly, there are few gems to hand out.
The trouble is that most of busy backgrounds are often illogically designed, for example, a crazy littered kitchen. Was it planed as an organized chaos? We doubt, honestly. It would be okay, if you were not asked to find too many tiny items such as pens, needles or bugs. A set of repeating mini-games is predominantly easy and silly. So, the tasks “to dress up the heroin in costume” requires no special skills, we suppose. Of course, you are able to use quickly recharging hints and skip button, but in this case you will complain about the shortness of gameplay. Actually, it is not short at all but it will be if you make excessive use of hint and skip buttons. Masquerade Mysteries: The Case of the Copycat Curator evokes mix feelings about itself, though it is one of those games that neither amuse you nor repel you. So-so!
