In fact, Matches and Matrimony is an interactive adventure that combines three illustrious novels by Jane Austen. The idea of this game novel is quite unique and fans of this romantic stories will really like this premise. The first part of this title delves into Pride & Prejudice. The second part of the game can be chosen by yourself. It depends on whether you like to dive into the plots of Sense & Sensibility or Persuasion. This sort of device to present storyline makes game interesting to replay. Very few titles allow you to shape the plot by yourself but this one is quite challenging to progress. Of course Matches and Matrimony: A Pride and Prejudice is mainly for those who have read any of these novels. If it is first time you deal with this stories you may feel out of sorts. Still, there are several helpful hints to let you know what to do and what choice to make. However, you need extra knowledge on the books to complete some tasks there. Thankfully, you can save at anytime and try each chapter again.

Visually, Matches and Matrimony: A Pride and Prejudice looks pretty standard for an interactive adventure. Unfortunately, the backgrounds are too static and hand drawn characters do not convey the whole vividness of the story. The music sounds repetitive but still fits the mood of the title.

While this game has a pretty unique concept (blending together three novels and flexible plot) its presentation might have been better. But the real fans of Jane Austen’s creation will appreciate this interpretation of the world-famous novel.
