MY BEAUTIFUL VACATION Review by DoubleGames
My Beautiful Vacation is a fresh hidden object game from Big Fish Games that has you playing as a young boy. You travel through different shops as you find hidden items off of a list.
The game starts out bald enough, but soon slow gameplay makes you yawning. Honestly, the title is so aggravating that you will be ready to give it up within five minutes. To our mind My Terrible Vacation is the proper title to this game because it has nothing to delight you and is bubbling with all sorts of serious issues. Upon entering one or another hidden object scene you are to find piles of items, which make no sense whatever. The game suffers from the poor organized hint system, but can boast of its “well thought-out” penalty system. So, if you click too much, these double doors will swing and lock for a penalty. We have never dealt with such a silly penalty!
The more you plunge into My Beautiful Vacation, the more sore points you notice. For instance, the game’s cursor has a mind of its own. Except for streaky cursor, which can behave itself, there are other annoyances. So, that fluttering butterfly hint and the shaking arrows to change screen is the last straw there. When using the hint, this flapping insect will flies all over the scene before it vouchsafe to land on wanted item. To top it off, there are practically no directions for the mini-games and they cannot be skipped. Using a rule of thumb and your intuition, you guess finally what it is all about. Well, we can tolerate My Beautiful Vacation’s stale artwork, we can turn off its annoying music but we are not going to put up with mechanics defects. Fortunately, now there are hundreds of other games that we can try easily.
