You start your Hidden Object adventure as the director of a natural museum who is engaged by the organization of the newest exhibition devoted to the remains of a notorious pirate, Captain Remington. You accidentally bring to life this blackguard and find yourself on his ghost ship, deeply involved into a thrilling adventure. Although the story sounds rather loony, the developers actually does their best giving us a truly poignant story.

The gameplay of Nightmares from the Deep: The Cursed Heart is a perfect blend of hidden object scenes, clever mini-games and mahjong solitaire puzzles. Hidden object scenes are clear, uncluttered and re-used once or twice, but still always intriguing. Puzzles range from easy to intermediate, and are mostly standard fare, but occasionally cleverly presented.  As for adventure challenge it is also well produced and organized.

What is really notable about this game is its visuals. Many of the them are so distinctly rendered and layered in dimension, it looks as if you could reach a hand out and actually feel the smooth of a sea sponge. However, the voice acting itself is less effective, with the characters sounding completely uninterested in what is going on. Still, there is not a huge amount of dialog so it’s never frustrative.

Have you ever heard such a proverb as “its better to see once than hear a hundred times”? Well, Nightmares from the Deep: The Cursed Heart is one those games that is better to see than hear or read a lot about. Good luck!
