PHANTASMAT Review by DoubleGames
There is no need to guess much what Phantasmat will be look like. It seems the title itself is speaking enough. Though sounding like something sinister, the new game by Codeminion S.C. is a fabulous hidden object adventure installment with a new spin on gameplay.
First off, let us warn you that you shouldn’t wait for an extremely twisted storyline there. The plot is fairly worn out: one rainy night as you travel down a weird road you lose your way and have a car crash. You have nothing to do but ask for help at the neighbor hotels or houses. While you are seeking for help, you observe how a mere car crash sucks you in a set of mysterious events. In this connection, Phantasmat might look like a title that persists a well-familiar “investigate the enchanted house” game formula, but it is not this case.
The developers quite understand that hidden object fans are sick and tired of shabby games. That is why the trick with overused game formula isn’t work today. In Phantasmat, the story is still challenging with the elements of twists that most hidden object installments lack. The characters are not numerous, but each one is well-presented and notable for his good voice-acting. The gameplay does not stuck you on a scene until you figure out all hidden items or solve a riddle. There you are able to move loosely around the game environment collecting different items, and suddenly go the scene where one of the picked items may be useful. But if you are not keen on hidden object scenes… In this game you have a unique chance to shift usual gameplay to a match-3 mode. It is a really interesting feature, isn’t it? We don’t remember any game that would allow us to change gameplay. Die-hard fans of this genre will surely enjoy these difficulty modes and detailed environment. Honestly, Phantasmat can bid to become the best game of this month or even this year.
