PIRATE MYSTERIES: A TALE OF MONKEYS, MASKS, AND HIDDEN OBJECTS Review by DoubleGames
After unforgettable meeting with Robinson Crusoe and the Cursed Pirates, we were pretty open-hearted towards a new game under this compound title - Pirate Mysteries: A Tale of Monkeys, Masks, and Hidden Objects. But our cherished hopes flied into pieces on developers’ inefficiency and their flatness.
First off, Kristanix Studios, the developers of this hidden object “masterpiece”, promised to take us to a thrilling adventure around exotic lands to save Mary’s father. The promise of meeting extraordinary characters, solving challenging puzzles and secrets sounded especially invitingly. But in fact, Pirate Mysteries: A Tale of Monkeys, Masks, and Hidden Objects can offer you nothing more than a tenuous plot and pack of lame tasks. This game is a straight hidden object game with the long shop-lists of hidden items.
Due to fuzzy graphics backgrounds and hidden object scenes are very uninteresting. That is why so-called “exotic” lands look not only awful but even terrible. To crown it all, some of the items are as tiny as a grain of sand. Hidden object puzzles have also a frustrating bug – some of the items are shown in a wrong period of time and you have to make a lot of random clicks. By the way, Pirate Mysteries: A Tale of Monkeys, Masks, and Hidden Objects is hostile to misclicking – just 3 wrong clicks and your cursor is spinning for several seconds. It seems the developers’ purpose is to show off its spinning cursor but not a challenging gameplay. No wonder! There is no challenging gameplay at all. The premise reminds us old-fashioned hidden object game but in its worse presentation. This title doesn’t worth your free time. If somebody wants to try out his nerves and hurt his eyes, welcome to Pirate Mysteries: A Tale of Monkeys, Masks, and Hidden Objects!
