PUPPETSHOW: RETURN TO JOYVILLE COLLECTOR'S EDITION Review by DoubleGames
PuppetShow: Return to Joyville is the forth installment in the well-known game series under the title PuppetShow. It is an open secret that the second, the third, the forth, etc. installments often lack in originality. Most of them are just shabby copycats of their first chapters in the series. So what about this title, given us by ERS G-Studio.
To tell you the truth, ERS G-Studio would better leave the idea of milking the PuppetShow series and take on the new one. Of course, it’s counted on the die-hard fans but when they see the same artwork, the same style and the same puzzles, they will be exhausted.
The game has standard modes: Easy, Advanced and Hard. PuppetShow: Return to Joyville seems rather short – playing in the hard mode without hints, skips and walkthroughs, you are able to complete this title in 3 hours. The puzzle offers nothing new, interesting or clever, just the same type of tasks we have tried before.
Due to the stunning graphics the junkpile scenes of PuppetShow: Return to Joyville look rather good, although they are not as eye-popping as the scenes of the previous chapters. Unfortunately, the developers didn’t manage to bring the same level of excellence to the rest of this really wash-out theme. There is no better hidden object game in this game series than the first installment.
Summing up, it is hard to review the game that has been already reviewed in such titles as PuppetShow: Lost Town, PuppetShow: Souls of the Innocent. Thanks to the PuppetShow series we are sure that there the puppets world is a scary one. But know we believe that the truly scary thing is the 5th installment in this series.
