Remedy is the first game in the series of Carol Reed’s point-and-click adventures. It was released by Merscom company. During her vacation in Sweden, Carol Reed finds out that her friend, who also happens to be a detective, has died. Now it’s up to her to solve the mystery of his death.
The game features friendly and intuitive interface which is very easy to learn. Different mouse cursors show you what actions are available on the current location and where you move. However, the gameplay in Remedy is non-linear and sometimes it is rather difficult to understand what goes next. But if you pay close attention to all the dialogues of the game, you can avoid this problem.
As we have already mentioned, this is the first game in the series, so if you have played other games devoted to Carol Reed, you will inevitably notice that the graphics is kind of poor. But it doesn’t affect the game play which is entertaining enough. Nice original music won’t distract you from solving challenging puzzles.
Despite all the insignificant flaws, like some tasks irrelevant to the plot, or low-quality graphics, the overall impression from the game is strongly positive. If you like complicated detective stories, or played other Carol Reed’s mysteries, you will surely enjoy Remedy. Have a good time!
