ROMANCING THE SEVEN WONDERS: TAJ MAHAL Review by DoubleGames
When a game’s storyline is based on the true story, it means that a game project is driven by great ambition. So Romancing the Seven Wonders: Taj Mahal is a new hidden object game developed by Big Fish Games, which tells us quite touching and tragic story of Prince Khurram in 17th century India.
According to the legend when his beloved wife died in childbirth, the Emperor had the beautiful Taj Mahal built in tribute. The game follows the Prince 400 years later as you help him reunite with his lost love. Though the plot is remarkable for its originality, the gameplay itself is not revolutionary at all, however, it allows you to go where you want, and complete or even come back to puzzles in any order you wish. The mini-games and hidden object scenes are not very challenging, but even annoying at times. Actually, it is rather relaxing to play this title because there are plenty of rechargeable hints and there is not timer.
Nevertheless, we cannot help but appreciate the quality of illustrated locations that burst with vibrant colors. They are all bright and of a good photographic quality. But if you do not like this kind of artwork, you will be disappointed. To crown it all, if you cherish you hope to hear Indian music, you will be disillusioned again. The background music is hackneyed and ordinary.
All in all, Romancing the Seven Wonders: Taj Mahal has not many miscellaneous locations to investigate, in each chapter, and the gameplay is clear as glass. Certainly, it is far from being a perfect game. But if you want to play for play’s sake…Well, why not after all.
