Are you tired of those tattered dolls with button eyes, abandoned houses and ruthless priests of dark gods, abducting little girls and boys? If so, be sure to try the new Adventure game under the title Severe Incident: Cargo Flight 821, which was developed by Reel Ten and released by Big Fish Games just a couple of weeks ago! .. We won’t try to convince you that this game is worth your time and effort, as the casual games market is replete with much more quality games, still Severe Incident: Cargo Flight 821 is the most outstanding installment that we have seen for quite a long time. Combining a huge, bright and colorful world with an atmosphere of adventure and lots of interesting puzzles, Severe Incident: Cargo Flight 821 will let you have a bunch of fun without a feeling of déjà vu or jumping out of your chair twice a minute.

The game takes place in the distant future, where flights into space became commonplace. During a cargo flight your spacecraft crashed on a mysterious planet inhabited by herbivorous dinosaurs. In truth, the storyline is simple, as the two fingers on the asphalt, completely devoid of intrigue and entirely predictable, but still pretty fun. The objective of the game is to repair your spaceship and safely leave the planet, which is not as easy as it might seem from the first sight. The huge fantasy world is fraught with many dangers and treacherous traps, which will take you about three hours to avoid and overcome them all.

After a short opening cutscene, the main character finds himself trapped in the cargo compartment along with a dismantled robot. There is no Hint button on the screen, so you will have to make your first steps without any external support. Once you repair the robot named Oscar, you’ll get access to quite a handy diary, consisting of three sections: Data, Map and Tasks, which greatly facilitate the process of searching for hidden objects and various useful instruments. Unfortunately, the Hint button appearing after the robot joins your party doesn’t work properly, so don’t rely too much on poor Oscar.

On the other hand, if you’re at an impasse, and do not know what to do next, you can always count on the Tasks tab in your diary. Instead of giving you vague hints, the developers have written in plain text, where to go and what to do to solve each particular problem. As a result, all you need to do is to execute the tasks in the correct order, carefully look around and follow the instructions. If you’d prefer to avoid spoilers, try to content yourself with the Data tab, which contains some useful information on current tasks, without clear instructions of what to do next.

There is only one game mode with gloving active areas and no penalty for random clicks. Most hidden object scenes are drawn in the classic junk pile style with just a couple of interactive elements. Hidden objects are numerous and not always lie in plain sight, so get ready to strain your eyes. To tell the truth, in Severe Incident: Cargo Flight 821 there is a bit too much of back and forth, which is a significant disadvantage, given the mediocre, horribly dated graphics. If you do not mind low-resolution textures and fluorescent colors all around, you may do justice to its unique puzzles, humorous dialogue with your charming robot assistant and the amazing atmosphere of sci-fi adventure.

Despite a number of shortcomings, against the background of overused horror and detective stories, Severe Incident: Cargo Flight 821 looks pretty fresh and even appealing. We can’t predict will you love or hate this game, but we strongly recommend that you give it a try! At least we had fun!
