SHADOW WOLF MYSTERIES: CURSE OF THE FULL MOON COLLECTOR'S EDITION Review by DoubleGames
Stunning artwork, haunting music, dark and weird atmosphere, and a non-linear gameplay. What more can you want from a hidden object game? Shadow Wolf Mysteries: Curse of the Full Moon Collector’s Edition by ERS Games Studio seems to correspond exactly with highest standards of casual game.
According to the plot, you are to investigate a series of sinister cases supposedly done by a wolfman. You walk around the town and scan strange areas of it, while collecting different clues. There a lot of objects to collect, so you are to peen into every edge and corner. The game is non-linear with tons of going back and forth and interesting how to use picked items. There is a game journal that helps you follow the plot and holds necessary clues. All hidden object scenes are junk pile style and very scattered, but always with clear items in relevant sizes. The puzzles and mini-games are predominately standard, but with terrific graphics and setting that makes them very interesting and intriguing.
The story is pretty familiar and doesn’t provide unique twists or spins, but still it is well-presented. It follows classical formula that ERS Games Studio seems to seize successfully: settled, spooky gameplay with solid adventure features. Surely, Shadow Wolf Mysteries: Curse of the Full Moon Collector’s Edition is one of those games which holds your mind up to the very last scene. These hidden object puzzles and mini-games keep you wanting more and more. No wonder, if you feel disappointment when the game is over.
However, the voice-acting is probably is the weakest point of Shadow Wolf Mysteries: Curse of the Full Moon Collector’s Edition. In fact, characters’ voices sound too annoying and frustrating. Maybe the reason is in their melancholic dialogues. So you’d better play this title without the sound. Overall, this is a five-star game. Though we have played a good number of gloomy type games, this is absolutely different and very challenging. Bravo!
