Because this is a Hidden Object adventure game, your job is to get to the bottom of these strange events in this strange mansion. Although Shiver: Poltergeist is the sequel to Shiver: Vanishing Hitchhiker, you shouldn’t look for any common features between these tales as there none of them. This title seems to be a solid Hidden Object game with an interesting gameplay and beautiful environments.

However, a closer look proves that Shiver: Poltergeist has nothing new or different that might surprise or provide us with challenge. There is noting extraordinary, just simple puzzles and tons of usual hidden object scenes. Be ready for lots of back and forth that might irritate sometimes.

Nevertheless, the main advantage of Shiver: Poltergeist is its horror atmosphere. It is one of those games that make you feel the participant of the current events. Still, the graphics are not the best – too rough and a bit grainy. There are surprisingly good voice-overs, and piano melodies in the game are just perfect.

Still, though not quite as hair-raising as its first installment, Shiver: Poltergeist is a brilliantly atmospheric title that will delight the fans of horror games. Sadly, its poor gameplay and lack of challenge will never let this premise be a top-list game. If you want just to kill one rainy afternoon, Shiver: Poltergeist will help you.
