Detectives, cops, FBI agents, are the most popular heroes for casual games, aren’t they? So, the role of pianist were different and promised to show us something new. Unfortunately, our hopes to step into the shoes of an absolute new avatar burst into pieces, when your pianist was in name only, and in truth, became just another detective, chasing an evil-doer.

In fact Silent Nights: The Pianist goes on like an ordinary Hidden Object game packed with secrets, puzzles and mini-games. Frankly speaking, puzzles are the best thing about this installment. By using classical principles the developers made a good twist on puzzles and refresh some mini-games. The hidden object scenes are well-done but blurry graphics might deter some diehard Hidden Object fans. After the puzzles, we really appreciate its unusually dynamic ending. Rarely is there much sense of risk in a hidden object game, but the last few minutes of this one actually manage to convey some pretty good tension.

As it have been already pointed, the artwork is too vague for this sort games. Of course, we don’t cry for butterflies and flowers but these illustrations are too dark even for this title. The music background is fine though, it doesn’t enough to create spooky atmosphere.

In the end, thanks to its unusual puzzles Silent Nights: The Pianist is work playing. However, the game fails to present us an innovative plot and plays like an average detective story. If you don’t mind these downside very much, give it a try to solve these challenging puzzles.
