SUMMER RUSH Review by DoubleGames
It was very exciting to see the new Time Management game Summer Rush from Big Fish Games but so disappointed when we tried it out.
Looking like a polished version of well-known Beach Craze, Summer Rush absolutely fails in playability. Busy screen, so colorful, crowded with arrows pointing to things which you all have to click very fast do not let you enjoy the gameplay at all. No doubt, Time Management genre implies a lot of moving around the screen, but there are too many moves. The idea to build in a hidden object part is not only new but even very uninteresting. Searching for an item in the hidden object scene is pretty easy, though the scenes are quite dark.
Still, the graphics are not perfect, however very colorful. Stretched out and even sometimes grainy scenes of Summer Rush look shabby. As a result you become tired of this artwork very soon and more and more often wish that this game finishes as soon as possible. The music background is good, not that great.
Keep on complaining about Summer Rush, we would like to add that the game never actually give players any instructions. While the goals of every level are outlined at the top of the screen, the player might have the feeling of having no idea what he is doing and why he is doing this. You find it pretty hard to concentrate on the task there, though it is very easy to get the expert goal on all levels.
The ordinary players as well as Time Management devotee will get bored within first thirty minutes of this game.
