THE FIFTH GATE Review by DoubleGames
Hey! What about to dig up the soil and plant some nice flowers? Is it too plain for you? Do not speak too soon! The Fifth Gate by PlayFirst offers you a pretty nice time management gameplay, which has you freeing a girl named Eden from an enchanted garden.
To play, you must gather flowers, mix different potions, and defend against garden pests. Does it remind you a lot of Magic Farm? Yes, you are absolutely right. The play is very similar but some tricks keep us from calling this title a definite copy of well-known Magic Farm. The plot in The Fifth Gate is slightly shabby, the gameplay is smooth, but those who have never tried Magic Farm can call this game quite innovative and gripping.
However, we should admit that this title one of the few fast-paced games, which requires a mix of fast reflexes, strategic planning and experimentation. The good combination of these abilities let players to get more benefits from this play. Unfortunately, some benefits are not explained, and if you are not familiar with this sort of game, can be easily missed. You are able to restart a task, but you have to start at the very first day of it.
Graphically, The Fifth Gate is pretty bright with lots of colorful illustrations. Amazing choice of flowers creates the atmosphere of calmness and eternity. The concept of this title is far from being extremely original, but placatory green hues pleasingly affect your eyes. All in all, not half of contemporary time management games successfully combine the strategy genre, and has a beautiful package.
