THE HARDY BOYS: THE HIDDEN THEFT Review by DoubleGames
The Hardy Boys: The Hidden Theft, from Her Interactive, is a new adventure game, which has come to give you some pleasure. But let us see, if it is so…
With the first very minutes the players dive into high energy action with the Hardy boys, two male heroes who love to solve mysteries. The Hardy Boys: The Hidden Theft follows the main features of adventure genre, where you have to correlate with different characters, collect inventory items and solve intriguing puzzles. The great part of the game is fulfilled with the dialogs which you have to listen to. It is rather boring, but the real fans of this genre will appreciate dialogue portion.
The puzzles are challenging for the most part, and while bewildering at time, are never too difficult or annoying. There you can find a good mix of inventory and manipulative type puzzles.
The interface of The Hardy Boys: The Hidden Theft is not as intuitive as it could be. The players move the main characters by clicking on footprint icons, indicating that they can go to another location. But this works not very well, and from time to time it is hard to get one or another hero to the certain place. It is not quite obvious also how to use the needful item and get out of the menu. More than once you have some problems to open inventory objects.
All in all, The Hardy Boys: The Hidden Theft will be rather good for young gamers. The storyline is pitfalls and will keep interest up to the end. The puzzles are also fine but not numerous as you would like. In comparison with the Nancy Drew serious, The Hardy Boys is not as addictive, but this is just the first chapter and is a promising beginner. Try it yourself!
