THE HERITAGE Review by DoubleGames
The new hidden object title The Heritage developed by Bruno Memo is not going to break stereotypes focusing mainly on a gloomy storyline. In the centre of attention is a young girl unraveling a mystery of her grandfather’s old, abandoned mansion.
The Heritage will perplex you from the very beginning and not in a good way. Firstly, the way of narration is too fast and crumpled, as if being read into a twopenny by someone with extremely poor articulation. The following hidden object scenes do not do anything to show the game to the best advantage, as rough artwork and dark colors give the title the appearance of very dated game, make the hidden items practically invisible.
Except for traditional point-and-clicking puzzles, the developers put into The Heritage such activity as using a brush to clean dust off a wall. Of course, it is far from being a unique twist on the genre, but it makes the searches more intriguing. As you can see the tasks have some challenge, but due to the murky graphics it is hard to pick out without help. Most mini-games are common and often even silly; fortunately, there is an option to skip these ordinary tasks.
The graphics, music and gameplay are all so-so and have absolutely nothing to take them to heart. The game looks incomplete because of several technical issues, for example, sound effects do not work properly. Frankly speaking, the screenshots were more attractive than the game itself and gave us a wrong impression. This time around, we were nearly cheated by Bruno Memo. Shame on them!
