THE MYSTERIOUS CASE OF DR. JEKYLL AND MR. HYDE Review by DoubleGames
The Mysterious Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Ocean Media is another mediocre hidden object title that has absolutely nothing to enjoy us. Mediocrity is a key word there that explains much of this game.
The Mysterious Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde starts with a vapid storyline, which copies the original novel practically word for word. To our humble opinion, if one game studio wants to translate a book to a hidden object game, for example, they should not use the entire character dialogs. This time around, the developers did not even care for paraphrase or synonyms; they simply copied the whole text. So it makes for some annoying and frustrating click and click during the game.
Beside these boring clicking through the whole game, the creators offer us common hidden object scenes, simple puzzles and mini-games. The items are not difficult to find but sometimes the dark colors of the graphics make some objects from the list almost unrecognizable. For players, who have weak eyesight, some hidden object scenes will be a sheer hell. The hints are limited and there aren’t instructions on how to use one or another object. To developers’ mind, minimum instructions will add challenge to the gameplay. What a mistake! Only the background music soothes a desperate situation of The Mysterious Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde a little bit. The charming tune of tango music cherishes your ears saving the gameplay from a shame. Lots of tiresome texts to read and easy tasks are everything what the developers are able to strike us. :-\
