VAL'GOR: THE BEGINNING Review by DoubleGames
Val’Gor: The Beginning is a product by SoWhat! Software, which has recently appeared on the game market. Well, the question arises can the Match-3 developers invent any fresher idea for the next storyline for a game of this category apart from magic and wizardry? For some reason there are necessarily frogs, fly-agarics, spiders or flasks of potions to match in three. Actually, Val’Gor: The Beginning is not an exclusion.
As it turns out, the plot of the game is rather mediocre. Like in most Match-3 games, the protagonist is a beginning magician, who wants to increase his power and to develop his knowledge in the art of sorcery. As a rule, there is always an ancient book of magic found somewhere in the forest, cave or something like that. This platitude is the basis for Val’Gor: The Beginning, too. As for the gameplay, it is also quite ordinary and not so complicated with the swap mode only. Besides, the game is overloaded with distractions. The biggest disadvantage is a too short timer, which makes you feel as if you speed amain level by level. But still, it’s a Match-3, not an Action! All in all, there is no zest in the gameplay.
Speaking about graphics and musical background, they both are just OK, not more. There is nothing in them that irritates, as well as there is nothing what the players’ eyes could rest with attention on.
In fact, Val’Gor: The Beginning doesn’t stand out among the many all-standard Match-3 games. Therefore you can play it for once when having nothing to do, for instance, but it will hardly stay too long in your memory or impress on your mind.
