YOUDA LEGEND: THE GOLDEN BIRD OF PARADISE Review by DoubleGames
It is clear that we appreciate one or another hidden object game, if it will have good backgrounds and fine puzzles. Most developers try to make scenes as hard as it possible but some developers such as Youda Games doesn’t know when to stop. As a result we have to play Youda Legend: The Golden Bird of Paradise, a game of odd hidden items, with improper sizes, perspective and shading.
Youda Legend: The Golden Bird of Paradise plunges you into tropical environments to reveal the mystery of this paradise. So you have to explore a great amount of hidden object scenes, with a common list of items to find. Undoubtedly, the game has beautiful scenery but a small resolution screen makes collection of miscellaneous items rather vexing. Many of the objects are of the same color and texture as the background, so you spend literally hours trying to find things. More than once you will use hints and hope for the best. To crown it all, the hint system is slow loading, and it only gives you a general area where the object is supposed to be, and even with the hint you cannot see them.
All in all, the story of Youda Legend: The Golden Bird of Paradise presented in mostly text dialogues and a few comics is not at all interesting. Still some puzzles are clever and require even logical skills. The interface is awkward as it is not always clear that some inventory items need “fixed” before they can be used in puzzles.
We believed in Youda Games but its work did not justify our hopes. However, if you are a hawk-eyed person or have nothing against blurry backgrounds, this game is for you.
