The gameplay mostly consists of hidden object games. At the bottom of the screen you will see a number of runes containing clues which will help you to find the item you need. These clues are made in a form of riddles. For example, it can say “I’m a small and sweet fruit cultivated on a vine, and I’m frequently used to make jelly or wine.” it means you need to find a bunch of grapes.

Time per level is limited in this game, so you have to be fast and careful. If you click on the wrong item, you will be fined by taking time off your clock. It is always better to use a hint in case you don’t know what item you need to find. There are several mini-games in The Mayan Princess like dragging and dropping tiles into the right place, or rotating puzzle pieces to restore a picture.
