MURDER, SHE WROTE Review by DoubleGames
The list of hidden object games has been recently widen in one more game under the title Murder, She Wrote created by Legacy Interactive. It is based on the long-running television series of the same name. So you play as Jessica Fletcher, a small town writer who stumbles upon awful crimes wherever she goes.
This detective novel contains five separate mysteries. Each case can be played with a timer or in a relaxed mode, but you have so much time to complete each level in the timed mode both options more or less feel the same. To begin the adventure you have to listen to the boring animated introduction, and then you’ll begin hunting for clues and talking with witnesses and suspects. Like most HOGs, the core gameplay involves busy indoor or outdoor backgrounds - be it on the deck of a boat, inside a restaurant, in laboratory or in make-up room.
At every hidden object scene, Jessica is given a list of hidden objects to find in the scene. Most of the objects you’re searching for are related to the environment or relevant to the story. Thanks to the stunning artwork they are easy to spot, however some objects are absolutely vague. If you are full, you can click on a blank piece of paper from Jessica’s typewriter for a hint. There are a number of puzzles to solve in between hunting for hidden objects. Jigsaw puzzles, memory games, spot the difference puzzles, logic challenges, and so on.
In total, the game has more than 80 levels, spread out between about two-dozen locations. Nevertheless, be ready to revisit the same locations a few times during one case to find this or that item. Each case should take one or two hour to complete.
We must confess it doesn’t exactly break new ground in the hidden object genre; although its enthusiastic presentation makes it well worth a download. Why not to play a game of a good quality?
