MYSTERY CASE FILES: 13TH SKULL COLLECTOR'S EDITION Review by DoubleGames
The outgoing year delights us with its biggest release in casual games – Mystery Case Files: 13th Skull by BigFishGames. Keeping all Mystery Case Files-lovers in the dark about this new title for several long months, the developers have carried their point – most of fans have practically gone mad. Those tiny information, occasionally given by the developers, was extremely inappreciably that nobody has any idea about this installment. So our patience has been awarded. Was this worth our waitings?
The scene is laid in New Orleans. When a farther and husband disappears under strange circumstances, a family is sure he is trapped by the ghost of a sinister pirate, so it is your job to find out and save him, if he is still alive, of course. Mystery Case Files series is famous for its high-polished graphics and cryptic game environment. Surely, the same we can observe there: Mystery Case Files: 13th Skull inherited Return to Ravenhearst’s spookiness, derived its perfect point-and-click system from outstanding Dire Grove. However, the seventh installment is much less griming than its ancestor, and a lot slower paced.
The artwork looks ideal there. Beautiful scenes with clear video, rich and vivid colors, accurate details that make sceneries memorable and close to life. Mystery Case Files: 13th Skull offers us a good hidden object experience. Could it be otherwise? The title of this series is like a quality-label today. Everybody can be sure in its high-quality gameplay and good production values. But we have to admit that these puzzles are not the most challenging ones, like they were in prior titles, still they will require a bit of thought and high attention to details. As usually BigFishGames couldn’t go without any gimmick. So the the inclusion of actual people acting the role of some in-game characters you interact with is obviously the revolution. Happy gaming!
