Real Estate Empire 2

Real Estate Empire 2, from Rusty Axe Games, is a nice time management game that has you taking care of a great number of tenants.

According to the game genre you progress by completing a number of goals within a set number of months. There are five kinds of houses in Real Estate Empire 2: bad, sketchy, fair, good, and excellent. The better the house the less they undermine your rental property. The gameplay is complicated by the additional tasks. So you should keep a watchful eye not only on your domains but look after the tenants that can be unhappy, indifferent or happy. Actually, it is not an easy job to mind all point of the gameplay. 

In spite of the artwork of Real Estate Empire 2 being rather static, the environment is bright and the houses are colorful. The music is nice but from time to time a bit too repetitive. In fact it is a kind of game that brooks no delay. Otherwise you have to replay one or another level to gain the goal.

At first sight the interface looks rather strange and takes some time to get used to it but after a few levels nothing seems really out of place. Still there is more than one defect. For example, it is not informative enough, deceiving you at times. To crown it all, when you want to switch between players the player selection box requires you to type in your name. Why? You have already created a player!

To play or not to play? It is your own free choice. Honestly, today there are few time management games that can indulge us with varied gameplay. Real Estate Empire 2 made a good attempt to bring some thing new to the genre. Though the issue needs a quite revision, it has a right to be.
