SIMAJO: THE TRAVEL MYSTERY GAME Review by DoubleGames
We have already got accustomed to be the victims of developers who have never heard of accurate attitude towards work. Pity, the fine idea was not fully realized and ended up too abruptly. Simajo: The Travel Mystery Game is a shame shot in the blue presented by Gestalt Games.
This installment begins with the quite intriguing storyline that is a sort of take on the fame movie “Jumanji”. However, after a really promising start, the plot fails and comes to naught. There are a great and varied number of searches, puzzles and mini-games. But they do not mean much or save Simajo: The Travel Mystery Game from an absolute collapse. Most of the tasks are boring and easy to complete. If it is not easy enough, just wait for several seconds before your hint timer recharges. Fortunately, this rubbish can be skipped with no penalty and no waiting period.
The artwork is out of all notches, the hidden objects just fade into the environment so not entertaining or challenging because the color of an item is the same as the background, for example green leaf on green wall. The dialogues are simply unintelligible and annoying for one’s ears. Repetitious sound effects continue the row of issues. Although Simajo: The Travel Mystery Game involves different tasks, they are all of a usual type: match-3, find-a-word, spot the differences, etc. Moreover, from scene to scene you will have to hunt for one and the same items.
Well, it seems the parade of disappointing games to be continued…
