TOTEM TRIBE Review by DoubleGames
Totem Tribe manages to pull together some of the best elements from a number of popular casual games and create something twice as engaging without upping the complexity. Part island sim, part hidden object, and part real-time strategy with mini-quests and puzzles.
The Totem Tribe game play is divided into intriguing missions that unfold as you progress to each island. The maps range from icy winter landscapes, isles that resemble well-known holiday postcards to dangerous volcanic regions. You must build huts to train workers, then set them to work building the various structures required to progress. Missions are always different but usually include optional side-quests you can undertake while waiting for your workers to build.
As for graphics, each island is uniquely designed and beautifully colored. Creatures roam around the islands, whether hostile or not are also graphically impressive even if they are little tribal men.
Through the sound effects of Totem Tribe, players are even able to hear villagers pounding away with hammers. The music tracks fit the game well.
Overall, such a unique gaming experience is not easily found in the casual games market, and its production values are above average.
