BORN INTO DARKNESS Review by DoubleGames
Do you like stories about thirsty vampires and their eternal life? If so, then play Born into Darkness, a new game by GameHouse!
Born into Darkness is a new hidden object game. Amber, a 200-year-old vampire, works as a museum curator and is surrounded by artifacts and relics of the past. She has been blackmailed by Nathan, a fellow museum employee, to help him find Shroud of Lazarus. This ancient artifact has a mystical power to cure any illness and even bring the dead back to life! So you’ll have to solve different puzzles and find a big number of objects on your way to the artifact.
The disappointing fact is that the gameplay of Born into Darkness is very similar to that of other game by the same developer – Autumn’s Treasures. If you’ve played Autumn’s Treasures, in some scenes the environment can be very familiar to you. Also the characters are rather strange. Amber’s character talks with a bizarre accent (why did the voice actor decide that vampires talk with an accent??). Nathan seems to be a goofy-looking odd fellow. He always says things that kill you by their idiocy. Just imagine some tricky situation and think what you would never ever say. Be sure, Nathan will say it, grinning like a real moron.
As for the music and graphics of Born into Darkness, they are rather fine. The gameplay is easy and, as puzzles can’t be skipped, it’s good thing that they won’t be a problem. So, if you like easy games about vampires and haven’t played Autumn’s Treasures before, play Born into Darkness and try to enjoy it.
