GRIM TALES: THE BRIDE COLLECTOR'S EDITION Review by DoubleGames
Looking at the title of the new hidden object game Grim Tales: The Bride from Elephant Games we understand immediately that we will dive into tragic storyline about vanishing bride and it’s up to you to reveal the odd circumstances of her death. Was it a murder or an accident?
Begin your hidden object journey with a meeting your demon guide, a weird ghostlike being that will assist you through the whole game. The idea of traveling to the memory, collecting different clues and items is well-familiar for hidden object players. Grim Tales: The Bride is one of those games that involve tons of locked rooms and items. Bedrooms, cabinets, bowls and even a ladder require special efforts from you to become available. On the one hand this style of gameplay makes the game very but on the other this might become frustrating after a time because there are too many backtrakings across the scene.
However, the die-hard fans of hidden object genre won’t mind this fact as Grim Tales: The Bride is very beautiful. Detailed and vivid scenes are interesting to watch and explore. Well-masked items fit with the scenes and always make sense to the story. All hidden object scenes are of a junkpile style, though you never require a magnifying glass or so to find objects. There is a good number of regular puzzles that you have already played before and they are pretty easy to crack.
As for the music background the developers did really their best wrapping up the game into enjoyable tunes that perfectly fit the mood. Unfortunately, there is no voice-acting, an it would have been an ideal addition there. Still this is not a big problem as the music compensates this downside.
All in all, Grim Tales: The Bride is a fine game but it might seems a bit repetitive after a while. Nevertheless, it is a worthy installment which will refresh one’s hidden object library.
