HIDE AND SECRET 4: THE LOST WORLD Review by DoubleGames
The storyline of Hide and Secret 4: The Lost World involves the next adventures of our arch-enemy Jacques, familiar from the previous games of Hide and Secret series by Anarchy Enterprises. They who have played them can confirm that the progress in complexity both in the gameplays and the game compositions in whole is obvious.
One of the additions to Hide and Secret 4: The Lost World gameplay is a map which helps you travel from scene to scene saving a lot of necessary time. Besides, there is a special journal where the notes about your trip progressing are registered. At the very beginning the gameplay seems a bit slow, but when the player gets a binocular (another developers’ surprise!), the game starts moving along quite faster and more gripping. One more element which differs Hide and Secret 4: The Lost World from many Hidden Object games is a railcar-like mechanism which takes you to the game locations. It’s really unwonted and thus attractive.
The game is rich in graphics. One of the most valuable characteristics for HOGs is to be crisp and clear, so that the hidden items are easy to find. Hide and Secret 4: The Lost World meets this requirement completely. However, there are some objects in the game scenes which do not correspond the whole atmosphere, such as mouth organs or irons in the launch cell. But in fact, these cases are random and don’t spoil the impression.
The adventure-type musical background is what’s a game about thieves, treasures and quests needs. As for Hide and Secret 4: The Lost World, its sounding fits greatly the mood and the idea of the game. There is no voice-acting though, the characters’ speech is reproduced through the nice sub-titled dialogues.
